I just saw a posting from a teacher friend who buys many classroom library books at yard sales. Accompanied by her daughter, Heather selects books with themes of her grade's curriculum plus those that vary in readability (easy to challenging text). Even in the older grades, students still like reading favorite picture books. For as little as a dime or a quarter, parents can build a home library for their children.
We are so excited to begin publishing the first of many apps for young readers. Thanks to our students, family, and friends for all of your support and suggestions!
One of the most important activities that children can do every day is to read whatever they enjoy. I have a student, who always carries a book about horses with her, while another child has a goal of reading every book in the Magic Treehouse Series. Help your child discover a favorite kind of book, author, or topic, and then watch him/her devour books! Reading is a lifelong pleasure!
